HairTG – Surface

HairTG – Surface for Substance Painter & Designer is a procedural hair texture generator suitable facial hair, hair covers. It is also declined as a feather creation tool with HairTG – Surface, Feather Edition. HairTG – Surface comes in three variants:

Facial Hair Edition for Substance Painter

A set of eyebrow, eyelashes, mustache, goatee parametric decals to start from and modify procedurally with dozens of parameters.

Hair Cover Edition for Substance Painter

Grow PBR hair/fur on any surface, procedurally with dozens of parameters and paint masks to drive the hair direction, length, aspect and other properties.

HairTG – Surface Extended for Substance Painter & Designer

Contains both the Facial Hair and Hair cover editions above plus the core hair generator components letting you create new facial hair and other designs in Substance Designer and build the generators you can then use in Substance Painter.

Facial Hair Edition

  • A collection of facial hair parametric decals including 10 eyebrow, 5 eyelashes, 8 mustache and 3 goatee designs which can be modified procedurally in various ways using dozens of parameters.
  • Procedural modifications to base designs include: hair growth, global hair rotation, hair thickness, hair shape, hair spacing, hair opacity etc.
  • Multiple coloring modes including per-hair coloring.
  • Ability to add up to 3 configurable cuts to designs (to be used with eyebrows for example).
  • Handling of linked two-component designs (mustache) where the second component may be synchronized with the first one. For example modify the left part of a mustache and the right ones gets modified too.
  • Outputs the following PBR maps: Opacity, Depth (Height), Color (basecolor), Diffuse, Flow (Direction), Normal, Roughness, Ambient Occlusion up to 8K in resolution.

Hair Cover Edition

  • Grow hair/fur on any surface, procedurally with dozens of parameters to drive the hair direction, length, aspect and other properties.
  • Directly paint the hair direction and local adjustments to hair length, shape and other properties.
  • Multiple coloring modes including per-hair coloring.
  • Outputs the following PBR maps: Opacity, Depth (Height, Displacement), Color (basecolor), Diffuse, Flow (Direction), Normal, Roughness, Ambient Occlusion up to 8K in resolution.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

HairTG – Surface Extended

  • Contains both the Facial Hair and Hair Cover editions.
  • Access to the HairTG – Surface base hair generator component (SBSAR) the Painter components are built from.
  • SBS files of the Painter components built upon the HairTG – Surface base component so you can create your own as well as custom designs (eyebrows, eyelashes etc.) for the Facial Hair Edition component.
  • SBS files of the all Facial Hair Edition designs (26 in total) that you can study and reuse for your own designs.
