HairTG – Surface, Hair Editions for Substance 3D Painter & Designer are procedural fiber texture generators used to create hair, facial hair and fur. They come in three variants:
Grow PBR hair/fur on any surface, procedurally with dozens of parameters and paint/procedural masks to drive the hair direction, length, aspect and other properties.
Facial Hair Edition
A set of eyebrow, eyelashes, mustache, goatee parametric decals to start from and modify procedurally with dozens of parameters.
Hair Edition Extended
Contains both the Hair and Facial Hair editions plus the core hair generator components letting you create new facial hair and other designs in Substance 3D Designer and build the generators you can then use in Substance 3D Painter. It also includes powerful flow, mask and shape generation tools for Substance 3D Designer.
All tools come with manual and video tutorials.
Features in version 2:
Four fiber generators using two generation technique: Fragment-based (fast, for short hair or fur) and Per-hair based (each fiber is unique, long hair support).
Paint or procedurally generate the hair direction and local adjustments to hair length, shape and other properties.
Ease of use with a simplified short hair generator to get started with the tool, simplified parameter controls and follow along tutorial videos.
A specific Long Hair generator where the hair shape follow the direction lines.
Extensive set of coloring modes including color palettes, blend map combinations, per-hair coloring, local coloring, shadowing etc.
Procedural mask and direction (flow) generator and filters to create accurate and easily modifiable masks and direction maps.
Outputs the following PBR maps: Opacity, Depth (Height, Displacement), ID, Color (basecolor), Flow (Direction), Normal, Roughness, Ambient Occlusion, Anisotropy Angle and Level, up to 8K in resolution.

Facial Hair Edition
A collection of facial hair parametric decals including 10 eyebrow, 5 eyelashes, 8 mustache and 3 goatee designs which can be modified procedurally in various ways using dozens of parameters.
Procedural modifications to base designs include: hair growth, global hair rotation, hair thickness, hair shape, hair spacing, hair opacity etc.
Multiple coloring modes including per-hair coloring.
Ability to add up to 3 configurable cuts to designs (to be used with eyebrows for example).
Handling of linked two-component designs (mustache) where the second component may be synchronized with the first one. For example modify the left part of a mustache and the right ones gets modified too.
Outputs the following PBR maps: Opacity, Depth (Height), Color (basecolor), Diffuse, Flow (Direction), Normal, Roughness, Ambient Occlusion up to 8K in resolution.
